The CSEE geared towards sustainable development by addressing intertwined problems to sustainable development, namely food insecurity, negative effects of climate change, women and youth unemployment. The ultimate aim of CSEE is to develop/support communities lift themselves out of poverty while building their resilience. This will include:

  1. Mainstream Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) in all SADO strategies, operations and interventions to increase food security and community resilience.
  2. Support small scale producers and service providers to increase and diversify their livelihoods and sources of income.
  3. Ensure putting in place climate resilient production.
  4. Ensure the creation of jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities for youth to combat youth unemployment.
  5. Provide small scale producers with knowledge and skills on climate smart production skills and practices. This is combines with access to affordable inputs such as tools and equipment, seeds and fertilizers and technology innovations such as renewable energy and finance.
  6. Creating enabling environment for small entrepreneurs through the removal of barriers that hamper economic development activities and production.
